Why do those countries block blackberry ?

Every country wants the access to messaging, voice,Email data of all smart phone users (what ever the carrier may be) for monitoring the security threats. In this way every mobile manufacturer will provide its incoming/outgoing data to the governments.

Blackberry developed by RIM-Research in Motion, an Ontario based mobile phone manufacturer has different messaging system.RIM has its own global network which uses high encryption mechanism and handles all the data traffic on its own and processed by servers in Canada.

Other manufacturers like Nokia and apple use email and other data in the open internet which is easy for government to intercept messages.

Blackberry uses this highly secure system to provide inbuilt security for corporate and military services.[Obama uses Blackberry]

But governments  couldn’t  track because of high level security that they can only intercept if RIM provides Master key of their own network. The alternate would be setting up proxy servers in the near by location. But RIM refused to setup this proxy servers separately.Countries like US and Canada have better facilities to track every data.

But in gulf and Asian countries couldn’t possible track blackberry messages because they don’t have much facility like US (NSA).This is the primary reason for blackberry banning.

As similar to UAE ,Indian government has also asked RIM to provide way for accessing blackberry messages.

With no solution available and in the public interest … Blackberry Messenger, Blackberry E-mail and Blackberry Web-browsing services will be suspended until an acceptable solution can be developed and applied," Telecommunications Regulatory Authority director-general Mohamed al-Ghanim said in a statement carried on state news agency WAM.

UAE’s statement on Blackberry

RIM’s shares fell 2.7 percent on Monday due to this announcement.

This will affect thousands of blackberry users now cant able to access internet and email.Either the government has to find alternate way to handle this or RIM has to negotiate to stop getting banned from other countries too.
