This tutorial will teach you to install Cairo dock 2.4.0 in Ubuntu recent versions like Ubuntu 11.04 /10.10/10.04.If you are new to Cairo Dock ,then let me tell you what is it .Cairo-Dock is a pretty, light and convenient interface to your desktop, able to replace advantageously your system panel! It features multi-docks, taskbar, launchers and a lot of useful applets. Applets can be detached from the dock to act as desktop widgets. Numerous ready-to-use themes are available in 1 click, and can be easily customized at your convenience. It can use hardware acceleration to be very fast and low on CPU.
How to Install :
Open the terminal(Ctrl+Alt+t) and run the following commands :
1 | sudo add-apt-repository ppa:cairo-dock-team/ppa |
1 | sudo apt-get update |
1 | sudo apt-get install cairo-dock cairo-dock-plug-ins |
If you would like to uninstall this software , then enter the following command:
1 | <br /> |
sudo apt-get purge cairo-dock cairo-dock-plug-ins && sudo apt-get autoremove
